Windows Media Encoder

If you're looking for a good media encoder and don't want to pay for Quicktime Pro then I would recommend the Windows Media Encoder. Aside from the Xbox360, I'm not a huge fan of Microsoft and this very well may be the only Windows application I ever recommend. Anyhow, the program feels pretty guerrilla which is uncharacteristic of Microsoft and probably adds to why I like it. I've only started playing around with it but I get a feel there's a lot of useful potential waiting to be tapped into here. You can download it here and did I mention that it's free?
